Ladies First with AAA High School Basketball Championship
If Robert Duvall loves the smell of napalm in the morning then I like overdosing on hoops in March.
The NCAA March Madness basketball tournament is a few weeks away and the B.C. Boys AAA tournament takes place next week, but closer to home the 2008 Provincial Girls High School AAA Basketball Championship will be awarded tonight at Capilano College's Sportsplex in North Vancouver.
The championship tournament started on March 5 with 16 high school teams and the dust has nearly settled as Elgin Park will do battle with Riverside for the AAA crown.
The championship will start at 6:45 pm and tickets are available at the door.
Adults get in for $10, students and seniors for $6 and children under 6 years of age get in at no cost.
NBA people, whether it was players or analysts, have said that Vancouver has no basketball history but the Girls tourney is in its 59th year of existence (no tournaments were held in 1956 and 57).
It makes no difference anyways. I'd rather see ladies going all out and hustling than a bunch of prima donna millionaires who float.

i love capilano college, i remeber myself just 2 weeks ago runing around that gym, taking photo of the Capilano Blues Men's Basketball practice game, for journalistic purposes! They didn't have a very good season though.
