A $27,000 question. Wow... seems like a rhetorical question to me. But no, Mrs. Orr can't deny her children the 'once in a lifetime experience.' I remember being dragged by my family to the bobsleds when I was a youngster back in '88. I felt nothing but cold and confused.

More homeless have fallen victim to the weather; not really newsworthy without flames.

Gregor Robertson issues a statment on how you can help the homeless this winter. You can even start online.

Is Chilliwack's post-secondary pipe dream a zombie? I dunno, but it sure does sound like some serious fraud. "Nobody had any evil intent, but they just didn't do their homework." Yes, a PhD usually requires some homework. UN sponsorship a little more. Cmon' guys, not the kind of slow town we're looking for.

On a more serious note, I urge you all to join in the fight against the Big Media monopoly during this pivotal transition. The media-political complex is only one upsetting consequence.

Ok, I'm going to get a bit indulgent and quickly say... damn, The Onion has been on fire lately. Between Area Woman Becomes Vice Presidential Candidate and the recent run of deadpan bush jokes (see the bottom), I must say I'm bloody surprised they've managed to maintain the quality for this long. Where oh where is the Canadian equivalent? I thought we were funnier... or are the witty Canadian geeks just writing for The Onion?

Cheers to Jeffrey Simpson for keeping me up all night with nightmares of early nineties white reggae-rap. Here's a list of the Top Canadian MCs of 2008 to offset.

Cheers Raul et al. Merry Christmas to all.
To Calgary and halfway back and I've thus far survived the roads. 2009 should be a great year for local cynicism... see y'all then...
