020108_mb.jpgUp to 15,500 Homeless: Report. Tally of BC homeless by health profs far higher than housing minister's. Yeah but that's only because they actually went out and counted. I'm the housing minister! You expect me to go out there and actually talk to these people???? Ewww.

You could always just set them on fire.

Turncoats and Turnstiles. "And if "nuts and panhandlers" are a problem, spending $100m on housing for the homeless, and more care for those tipped out of institutions might make a lot more sense. Since those problems were largely created by provincial government cuts to essential social welfare programs. But of course to a BC Liberal a crack down on fare evasion or a campaign to keep beggars and homeless people off SkyTrain looks so much more attractive than wondering why we have those social problems in the first place". BOOOSH!!!

Welfare payments to be loaded on to debit cards for 20,000. Not quite a Gold Card, but I'd love to see someone pull it out and say, "I got this one guys".

When price is pointless. "Global real estate buyers may force out Vancouver's elite when vying for square footage in what developers promise to be the continent's latest architectural icon". Suck on that Vancouver elite, not so tough now are you?

Wee Woo! Sullivan actually accomplished something!!!!! Or Maybe not.

Vancouver debates plastic bag van. Oh man, that would be so cool! A van made out of plastic bags? What's there to debate?

Granville Strip Not as bad as Kandahar. I didn't know cops were allowed to have a sense of humour. Most of the ones I've met are suuuuper boring.

RCMP mum on reason for UBC lockdown. Hey this is getting kind of interesting. I wonder if the nanobots started their long awaited ooze revolution? (I finally got to use that in a sentence).

Rising tuition leads to a two-tiered system: "You think today's postsecondary students are kind of whiney butts, don't you? Mooching off their moms and dads, or signing on the dotted line for a student loan they practically plan to default on, they tilt back their lattes and mewl: "It’s so hard; I can hardly afford tuition, let alone fees and books." Then, zoom, off they go in their Acuras". Actually right now I'm kind of wondering how you managed to graduate from post-secondary and actually get paid to write things like 'whiney butts'. Speaking of Millenials at the workplace....

Philippines labour deal rankles Activists. Aww, but they make the best housekeepers!

Protest photo part of 2010 culture fest. "If there's irony in a restaged anti-Olympic protest photo being part of VANOC's much-touted Cultural Olympiad (which gets under way tomorrow), VANOC officials prefer to see it another way: as proof that their event is artistically sound, not just a cheery diversion." Either that or they think the photo makes natives look like crazy Al Qaeda terrorists which will help explain why they're going to round them all up.

Our candidate for the Darwin Award. We should be proud.

Red Dot Campaign. I kind of like junk mail. It makes me feel important.

Come see me tell racist jokes at the Cambrian Hall tonight. Early show. Heckle please.

Off topic:
Jamie Lee Hamilton is at it again. She is using one of her many aliases on squirt.org to attack the gay men in Vancouver again.

Can we get her kicked out of her social housing so that someone that really needs it can use it?
She is obviously able to work but chooses to spend her time attacking everyone who is trying to earn a living in this 'world class city'.
Why should she be supported?
