Yup, it's another round of Concert BReak!
Thursday, Apr 3
Go to the last Concert BReak to access tonight's shows.
Friday, Apr 4
♦ The Satellite Nation @ The Bourbon: These pop-punk locals will be joined by Whitfield.
♦ Taxes @ The Cobalt: BR's own Sean Orr will be rocking out again this Friday. Taxes will be joined by Baby Control, Basketball and Japandroids.
♦ Yesterdays Forgotten @ The Media Club: Vancouver's Yesterdays Forgotten CD release party will also feature Yuca and Thieves.
♦ The Deep End @ Fairview Pub: These blues rockers sound like they are heavily influenced by classic rock.
Saturday, Apr 5
♦ Black Mountain @ Commodore (Sold Out - Day One): Black Mountain has been coming up here at BR for years. Maybe it's because they're local rockers, or maybe it's because they're constantly building momentum. Ladyhawk and Nordic Nomadic will be opening the show.
♦ That 1 Guy @ The Railway Club: Mike Silverman is a highly experimental individual. He even invented an instrument called the Magic Pipe.
Sunday, Apr 6
♦ Black Mountain @ UBC Sub (Day Two): See above.
♦ The Black Keys @ Commodore: This duo of blues rockers from Ohio who have seen praise in Rolling Stone. You can expect Jay Reatard to be the opening act.
♦ Rae Spoon @ The Astoria: Calgary roots-folk.
♦ Certain Breeds @ The Cobalt: Certain Breeds is a Vancouver-based psychadelic-rock group. Aerosol Constellations, Hepitidal Wave, and Ice Cream will also be playing.
Tuesday, Apr 8
♦ Julie Doiron @ St. James Hall: This French-Canadian won a Juno for Julie Doiron and the Wooden Stars. Wiki tells me she's an avid photographer, who does much of her own promo photos and cover-art. The Superfantastics will be joining her.
♦ Morcheeba @ Commodore: UK pop/r&b make a stop at the Commodore after the release of their sixth album Dive Deep.
♦ The Shiftless Rounders @ Railway Club: This acoustic-folk duo is from Washington and will be joined by Dyad.
Wednesday, Apr 9
♦ The Waifs @ Commodore: These Aussie folk-rockers own the indie label that John Butler is signed to. Matthew Santos opens.
Thursday, Apr 10
♦ Paul Brandt @ Prospera Centre (Sold Out): If you're gonna like today's country music, you might as well like it Canadian.
♦ Cat Power @ Vogue Theatre (Sold Out - All Ages): This minimilistic-indie rocker from Miami makes music that is intentionally unfinished. She is said to perform amazing live covers, check out the video above for one such example (Janis Joplin meets Frank Sinatra). Dirty Delta Blues Band will be opening.
♦ The D'Ubervilles @ The Biltmore: The D'Ubervilles are a pop-rock group from Ontario on tour promoting their album We Are Hunters. Culte Du Cargo will open the show.
As usual, I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions! Did you see a wicked show (perhaps Chromeo) that you're dying to talk about? You can write in our comments section or email me at ami [at] beyondrobson [dot] com.

I went to Chromeo. It was one of the best live shows I've been to in a while, and was a great chance do get some fancy footwork going. If I make it to Pemberton, they are going to be one of the 'musts'.
