Pictures from the Pool: Images from Beyond Robson's Flickr Group

Vancouver Photography

As a new contributor to Beyond Robson, I've been pleasantly surprised with the calibre of images that are constantly submitted to the Beyond Robson Flickr Pool. The pool serves as a reminder that this city has a wealth of talent, and I thought I'd show a little appreciation by showcasing a few shots that caught my eye.

On the left is Mark Koltz's image of parading dragons which was taken on Chinese New Years at Carrall and Pender. Mark Koltz is a freelance photographer who looks a lot like House, M.D.

Some may recognize Julia Koz from right here at Beyond Robson. This (center) image has a great combination of contrast, simplicity, complementary colours and awesome bokeh.

Simon Clarke is a local graphic designer and an excellent photographer. A regular contributor to the Beyond Robson Pool, Clarke has a way of capturing the haunting beauty of life. The shot on the right, titled "Smile Like You Mean It", is one such example.

Thank you to all the members of the Beyond Robson Flickr Group. Shots are often selected from the pool and featured in Beyond Robson, so those who haven't done so should join the group and add their best photos of Vancouver.
